Jaguar’s SUV Lineup: All 3 Models Previewed

We take a closer look at the current Jaguar SUV lineup & key specs, including the compact E-PACE for entry-level buyers, the Brit's first SUV with the F-PACE introduced in 2017 (which includes the burly 550-hp, V8-powered F-PACE SVR), and the all-electric I-PACE with a starting MSRP near $100,000.

E-PACE

Key specs:

  • Available engine: 2.0L
  • Performance: Up to 296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque
  • Cargo space: Up to 1,415 litres/50 cu. ft. (with rear seats folded)
  • Number of passengers: 5

As the most compact and economic SUV in Jaguar’s portfolio, the E-PACE offers an entry path for buyers to get a taste of that British luxury experience without bleeding the bank account. With a starting MSRP at $52,500, it competes with the Volvo XC40 and BMW X1 and X2 in the growing compact crossover space.

Entry level E-PACEs come with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine pumping out 246 horsepower. Upgrade to a E-PACE 300 Sport and your engine gets the mild-hybrid augmentation effect, boosting output to 296 horsepower. All Wheel Drive comes standard on all models with intelligent optimization to give drivers the best performance according to the conditions.

Its curved 11.4” infotainment screen is eye-catching and runs on Jaguar’s proprietary Pivi software. Sport models get the Pivi Pro with more built-in navigation capabilities and over-the-air updates. Learn more about Jaguar’s Pivi and Pivi Pro software here.

F-PACE

Key specs:

  • Available engine:  2.0L or 3.0L or 5.0L
  • Performance: Up to 550 horsepower and 516  lb-ft. of torque
  • Cargo space: Up to 1,727 litres/61 cu. ft. (with rear seats folded)
  • Number of passengers: 5

The Jaguar F-PACE was the vaunted British automaker’s first SUV to hit the market back in 2017. Today, it’s one of the most popular mid-size offerings in the luxury SUV market, alongside the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The F-PACE doesn’t lack for power under the hood, with a base model sporting a 2.0-litre turbocharged mild-hybrid engine, while its top-line F-PACE SVR kicks out a roaring 5.0-litre V8 with 550 horsepower. Check out our full 2022 F-PACE SVR review here.

That’s enough performance to get you somewhere in a hurry. The interior is designed to create a “tranquil sanctuary” with premium soft-to-the-touch materials, stylish finishes, and enhanced seat comfort. The F-PACE’s connectivity is centred around a slick-looking 11.4” infotainment screen that runs Jaguar’s Pivi system, which can also be found in Jaguar-owned Land Rovers. The wireless charging, clean air bubble, and driver assistance are other features that make the F-PACE a desirable mid-size SUV.

I-PACE

Key specs:

  • Available engine:  Dual motor, 90 kWh battery, All Wheel Drive
  • Performance: Up to 394 horsepower and 512  lb-ft. of torque
  • Cargo space: Up to 1,444 litres/51 cu. ft. (with rear seats folded)
  • Number of passengers: 5

The first all-electric crossover SUV from Jaguar is an attractive combination of luxury design, ample storage space, and up-to-the-minute connectivity features. However, with a starting MSRP near $100,000, the I-PACE is unlikely to receive widespread adoption by your average EV consumer in the market.

The all-wheel drive I-PACE is powered by two synchronous motors that provide 394 horsepower and can accelerate 0-100 kilometres in 4.5 seconds. The 90 kWh battery can get you as far as 400 kilometres in range, which probably isn’t enough to steal market share from Tesla, but it can be charged up to 80% with DC fast-charging, or 8.6 hours by 240-volt AC outlets. That marks a 5-hour improvement from the previous year’s model.

One of the more innovative features on the 2022 I-PACE is its efficient heat pump, which can harvest heat using outside air and electronic components to minimize battery usage and extend range distance.
