Canada Drives Donates $5000 to Red Cross Efforts in Nepal

Canada Drives is proud to make a contribution to Canada's Red Cross to help provide relief to Nepal

On April 25 2015, Nepal was devastated by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that caused over 8,000 deaths and 19,000 casualties. The catastrophe has left hundreds of thousands homeless and starving due to their villages being buried by debris. The Canada Drives team has taken action in alleviating the extremity of the state’s circumstances by making a donation of $5000 to Canada’s Red Cross.

The natural disaster has been followed by multiple small earthquakes that have worsened the country’s continued distress and detracted from recovery efforts. As a result, citizens of Nepal and those visiting the nation have been left in dire need of shelter and resources to cope with the impacts of this traumatic event.

Donations are currently being directed towards emergency relief as opposed to reconstruction in Nepal, which intensifies the impacts of competing claims on health resources and maxed out capacity in hospitals. Canada’s Red Cross is currently deploying personnel to provide assistance to local medical staff, start mobile clinics, and deliver treatment to communities that are difficult to reach due to geographic inaccessibility.

Canada Drives is proud to be an organization that reaches outside of our nation’s borders to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by natural disasters, such as the earthquake in Nepal.
