Honda and Acura Recall Over 80,000 Vehicles in Canada
Honda and Acura have issued a recall affecting 80,000 vehicles in Canada because of a malfunctioning fuel pump that could affect the engine performance.

What models were recalled?
This recall is actually an extension of a previous recall in the spring of 2020, and covers several different models under the Honda and Acura brands, 80,176 of which are affected in Canada, plus another 628,124 in the United States.

What’s the problem?
These affected fuel pumps are the same as those from the prior recall that were manufactured by Denso, a parts supplier. In the factory, they were exposed to a drying solvent that, when left too long, could dry out the pump too much. This could cause cracks that allow excess fuel in and force the engine to either not start or stall while on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.
Honda hasn’t reported any specific incidents or injuries related to the defect in these models.
What’s the fix?
Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump with one that has been redesigned to address the issue. The repair will be done free of charge.
